Earth day 2022

Our dear Jawahar sir was the resource person for the event hosted by SWAN-Nature Club of FISAT in association with NDLI Club, as part of the Earth Day 2022. The theme of this years' Earth Day was Invest in our Planet.

The Talk was titled "Investing in our Planet through Smart Technologies" and was held on 29th April 2022. The session intended to sensitise the participants about the environmental concerns the planet is facing and how developing sustainable and smart technologies goes a long way in creating a better tomorrow.

New Office Bearers for ASCE

"Leaders are not born, but they are made. And they made it just like anything else, through hard work."

The ASCE election of 2022 held on the 25th of March 2022, witnessed the unfolding of new zealous leaders. The new cabinet includes Gokul Ajith as the President, Shemin Majeed as the Vice president, Catherine Joby being Treasurer with Sub treasurer Jyothika K, Farheen Rasheed the Chairperson to Publicity with Sivaraj B as the Vice-Chairperson, Atul Krishna as the Recording Secretary with Aadhithya Santhosh as Joint Secretary, Haleema Nusrin the Chairperson to community service and membership with Sreepriya S the vice-chairperson, Yadu Krishna the correspondence secretary with Aengel Mariya as the Joint Secretary. All were welcomed with a big round of applause.

The elections were held online this year. Google forms that contained the name and pictures of candidates contesting for different posts were provided. More than 250 people voted. The former President Adhila Babu announced the results on 26th March 2022 at 9:30 PM via google meet. It was bit tense situation for all the candidates as there was an intense competition.

The election was held a bit early due to the tight schedule in the academic calendar and also to relieve the seniors so that they can concentrate on academic work. Well, it was a boon for all of us as we gained a lot of experience working with them. The team had the presence of well-experienced members who were already part of ASCE during the last academic year. Both Gokul Ajith and Catherine Joby were part of the former team and had a good experience working with seniors. This has certainly helped us to boost our confidence and render guidance during tricky situations. 

As we say failures as the stepping stones to success, let us learn from each mistake we make but never stop trying. Each day is a new beginning and let us begin this new journey to embark on beautiful milestones. Let each one’s effort put ASCE to greater heights. Wishing every member hearty congratulations. Let the journey begin.

Football Champions!! S8 Civil B

The Football Tournament of 2022, FSU CUP’22 was kicked off in March to the loud cheers of FISAT. This tournament literally boosted the spirits of each and every FISATian. It was a great joy to watch the teams play out in the lush green ground after a long time. After the tight competitions between the teams, to the great joy of the department, Team Civil B came out as the champions and won the cup. All credits to their determination and hard work. The story is thrilling.

The semifinals saw Team MCA, Team Mechini, Team Shibukuttan and Team Civil B after the first round of games. The fixtures were set by taking lots. The first game was between Team MCA and Team Mechini and the second game was between Team Shibukuttan and Team Civil B. Team Mechini and Civil B managed to get their way into the Finals. Stanly Andrews, Vidhu Vinayan and Vivek scored goals for Civil B with the other side support from the goalkeeper Koushik.

On the day of the final match, the audience were looking forward for a great game since both were the strongest teams in the previous matches. The audience was not disappointed, the match went on with high energy, team spirit and potential. In the first half, neither of the team scored goals. Later, Varun Menon, Stanly Andrews and Vidhu Vinayan managed to build up the game and passed the ball to Lino Soman, who managed to score a goal in the very first few minutes of the second half. The applause for the team echoed all over the ground. When Team Civil B almost fixed their hands on the cup, Team Mechini scored a goal in the final minute and it was a draw.

 

The final moments of the match was the nail biting, filled with tension, heartbeats and prayers. Finally, the match went int the penalty shoot out. Vidhu Vinayan, Stanly Andrews, Vivek Vinayan managed to score goals. Koushik P’s defence in the other side was a great support. With all the support from his team members , big cheers from the audience, and his days of hardwork and practice, Lino kicked the winning goal and finally Team Civil B came out as the title winners of 2022.

Winning this cup was a very proud and happy moment for the Department and an unforgettable one for the final years on their last days of college . Well, hearty congratulations to Team Civil B and all other teams as well for their amazing performances throughout the tournament.
