Republic Day 2022

The national flag was hoisted in the campus today 8:00AM as part of the Republic Day celebrations. Principal, Dr. Manoj George gave the message of the day, reading out the preamble of the constitution and elaborating on how we should practice it in our life. Not every day we get to read or listen to it.

WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens:
JUSTICE, social, economic and political;
LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship;
EQUALITY of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all
FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation.

Every issue our society face is essentially a violation of the principles given in the preamble, one way or other - Dr. Manoj Remarked in his speech. Dr. Arun S, Department of physical education lead the proceedings of the day with flag salute and the National Anthem.

Going back online 😕

It is not a very good news ðŸ˜•

We were hoping that the virus story is almost over and life will be back to normal. Things changed so fast. By the start of January, cases started popping up here and there and in a matter of days the number of cases surged. In the initial phase, only those classes where cases were reported were moved online.  But, more infections started emerging from hostels, faculty members and staff. This forced the campus to go back online. The classes were moved completely online 14th January onwards considering the safety of everyone. This is expected to continue till 31st January. Let's hope this will end soon.

à´…à´™്à´™ിà´¨െ à´…à´™്à´™് à´ªോà´¯ാà´²ോ? - first party of the year 🎉🥳

The first party of 2022, the "farewell party" of the 2021 batch was hosted in a most spectacular fashion in the south quadrangle on 8th January, evening. Aptly named à´…à´™്à´™ിà´¨െ à´…à´™്à´™് à´ªോà´¯ാà´²ോ? the event was first of its kind from the department. The 2021 batch was the luckless batch, the batch which lost the last two year of their college life to the virus. They missed the most wished tour, all the campus events and the farewell party. Life was online, Covid playing the spoil sport.

The program was conceived to compensate for all the loss with one heck of an event, and it was indeed a great party with all the glitz, glamour and noise. A one of its kind event, à´…à´™്à´™ിà´¨െ à´…à´™്à´™് à´ªോà´¯ാà´²ോ proved true to its title. A great party, filled with events, dance, college band and DJ. The LED wall and the yellow strip lights brought life back to the south quadrangle. The party went on till midnight with everyone sharing a great time - the invited batch, faculty members, juniors who volunteered to make the arrangements - everyone sharing a great time together.

College Union Election 2022

Union election is the one thing that lifts the spirits of the student community in our campus. The elections to the college student union council 2021-2022 was held on 5th January 2022. This council election was delayed to the delayed admission and start of semester. The day was as usual, the election of the class representatives happening in the classrooms in the morning and the the meeting of the elected representatives in the eventing.  The common sight on every election day was repeated this year too - small groups of students mediating in the various corners of the campus. The day was peaceful, the representatives elected without too much fuss. There was celebration too after the elections. Mr. Athik Jenu was elected as the Chairman and Ms. Unnimaya C S the Vice Chairman. The Arts Club secretary is Mr. Kiran Jayaram. Congratulations to all the office bearers.
