Seminar on Career Opportunities in Public Sector
The session was handled by Mr. Gokul, the faculty coordinator from Civilianz. The students got an opportunity to know about the diverse career paths available in civil engineering in public sector. The session also gave inputs on effective preparation strategies for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exams. The instructors highlighted common mistakes that students make during their preparations, offering valuable guidance on how to overcome them.
The pop-up quizzes, prizes for winners and the constant interaction maintained a high level of enthusiasm among the attendees. It will not be an exaggeration to say that the interactive and informative nature of the session left the participants motivated.

HEARTFELT FAREWELL MARKS THE END OF A JOURNEY - MTECH SECM SENIORS BID ADIEU
The morning of August 8, 2023, marked a bittersweet occasion as the MTech SECM seniors came together for their farewell event, organised to celebrate the end of their academic journey at FISAT. The event commenced at 10:00 am and witnessed the presence of esteemed guests including the Principal, Dean of Academics, Head of the Department (HOD), MTech Coordinator, Group Advisor, and other faculty members.
The ambiance was a mix of nostalgia and excitement as the soon-to-be graduates gathered to reminisce about their two years of hard work, learning, and camaraderie. The farewell event provided a platform for both the students and faculty to share their thoughts and experiences. The event began with a silent prayer and welcoming the guests and seniors with roses.
The Principal, Dr. Mini P R V in her address, commended the MTech SECM students for their dedication and perseverance throughout their academic journey. The Dean of Academics, Dr. Unni Kartha G praised the seniors for their achievements and encouraged them to carry forward the college legacy in their professional lives.
The HoD, Dr. Jiji Antony and MTech Coordinator, Dr. Asha Joseph shared anecdotes about the students, highlighting their contributions to the department and the college as a whole. The Group Advisor, Ms. Nincy Joseph in an emotional speech, expressed pride in seeing the students transform into capable professionals. Other faculty members also took the opportunity to convey their best wishes to the graduating class.
The event also featured a mix of cultural performances, games, and a video montage capturing memorable moments from the seniors' journey. Laughter, tears, and applause filled the air as students and faculty members shared their heartfelt memories. Lunch was provided at the auditorium for everyone in the department.
As the event concluded, Group Advisor, Ms Nincy Joseph gave a vote of thanks to the seniors who took their valuable time to be present there. Also thanked the MTech Juniors of S2 SECM who took their time to conduct the programme and made it a memorable one..The atmosphere was filled with a sense of accomplishment and gratitude, as the students looked forward to embarking on new adventures while cherishing the bonds they had formed during their time at the college.
The farewell event served as a reminder that the end of one journey marks the beginning of another. The MTech SECM seniors, armed with knowledge, skills, and fond memories, are now ready to step into the professional world.
In the words of one of the students, "This farewell is not just an end, but a new chapter waiting to be written. We'll carry the lessons and memories with us, as we step into the future with gratitude and determination."
With emotions running high, the farewell ceremony concluded, leaving behind a profound impact on all attendees. As the MTech SECM seniors walked out of the venue, they carried with them not only their degrees but also the warmth of the memories they had created during their time at FISAT.

Hands on Training in Q-GIS
During the training, participants were introduced to the basics of QGIS, including its interface, tools, and capabilities. The training covered the basics of QGIS, including data handling, vector and raster analysis, map production, and spatial analysis. The hands-on nature of the workshop enabled participants to gain confidence in utilising QGIS effectively, exploring the potential of geospatial data in solving complex problems.
