Thimirthonam - Onam Celebrations 2024

Thimirthonam, the Onam celebration was held on 12th September 2024, was a day filled with excitement and joy.

The program kicked off around 9:00 AM with the energetic beats of Chendamelam and Kaavadi Aattam at the college entrance. Nasik Dhol added to the festive atmosphere.

All the FISATians were dressed beautifully in traditional attire, adding to the vibrant mood of the celebration.

We enjoyed a variety of group dance performances by students from different years and departments, which filled the air with happiness and excitement.

The 4th-year B.Tech girls and boys, as well as the MBA and MCA students, gave performances that made everyone cheer.

The Pookkalam competition was another highlight, and we're proud to say that the Civil Department won this year! They created a stunning Pookkalam that truly captured the essence and spirit of Onam.

Traditional games like Vadamvali and Uriyadi were thrilling to watch and brought everyone together in a spirit of fun and friendly competition.

The Kerala Sreeman and Malayali Manka competitions celebrated our culture, adding a special touch to the entire event and showcasing our heritage.

The celebrations continued with the fusion of Chendamelam and Nasik Dhol, which filled the entire campus with a lively and joyful vibe.

The celebrations concluded around 1:30 PM, with the distribution of delicious payasam to everyone present. Thimirthonam was truly a day full of memories, laughter, and the true spirit of Onam!

For us FISAT Onam is not just a celebration, we stood together, performing, competing, and celebrating, it reminded us of all the past Onam celebrations that brought us closer as a family.

These are moments we will cherish forever. So to all future FISATians, make the most of these times - celebrate them with your heart, because these days will stay with you as a fond memories!
