The farewell party Class of 2025 - "Nannai Varatee"

The Civil Seminar Hall, echoed with laughter, tears and a thousand shared memories as we bid an emotional goodbye to the B.Tech Class of 2025 on 26th April 2025. What began as a simple farewell evolved into a heartfelt celebration of four unforgettable years, punctuated by friendship, late-night chat sessions, and the unshakeable spirit that defines our engineering family.

Polaroids of their memories and LED fairy lights floated from the walls, and a slideshow of candid campus moments played on the screen. Student volunteers from S6 Civil had worked since dawn to turn the space into a warm cocoon of nostalgia. Soft instrumental covers set the tone mingled with anticipation.

Dr. Mini P R, Vice Principal, Dr. Unni Kartha G, Dean Academics and Dr. Jiji Antony. Head of Department congratulated the students for their achievements and wished a bright future ahead. The students and the faculty who taught them shared their feedbacks and classroom experience. The event also included dance performances by the outgoing students and fun filled games and tasks coordinated by the pre final year students. Each graduate received a souvenir from the department and a portrait picture of the students of the class.

The awards for best projects were presented during the event. Mr. Adithyan M S and Mr. Muhammed Rizwan P were announced as the best outgoing students and Mr. Ajithkumar A B and Ms. Santhwana S were announced as the Best performers.

To the Class of 2025: may your blueprints be bold, your formulas flexible, and your foundations forever grounded in the friendships forged here. Farewell is only the first milestone on a road that winds far beyond our red-brick walls.

"La-Gon" - Farewell Party of MTech SECM 2023-25

As a proud member of the 2023-2025 MTech SECM batch, I can confidently say that our farewell party, "La-Gon", was an event filled with laughter, nostalgia, and heartfelt emotions. Organised by our juniors in the presence of all teaching and non-teaching staff of the Department of Civil Engineering on 25 April 2025 was a perfect tribute to our two-year journey.

The event was meticulously arranged and conducted by our juniors, who left no stone unturned to make it memorable for us. The event began with a warm welcome, followed by entertaining performances, fun games, and a touching video montage that took us back to our cherished memories.

The juniors went above and beyond to make us feel special, with personalised gifts that left many of us emotional. Our teachers gave us their best wishes and reminded us how much effort we put in to reach this point.

The best moment came when we, the graduating students, got a chance to share our experiences. We expressed our deepest gratitude to our professors and supporting staff for their patience, guidance, and unwavering support.

As the party ended with group photos, and a delicious lunch, we realized that while our time at FISAT may be over, the bonds we’ve formed here will last a lifetime.

"La-Gon" was not just a goodbye, it was a celebration of growth, friendship, and the beginning of a new chapter.

Congratulations Somya for the perfect 10

Getting a 10 out of 10 is always special. It speaks of hard work, focus, and the determination to do one’s best. But getting a perfect 10 SGPA in university examinations? That’s truly extraordinary.

We are thrilled to share that Somya Goswami, a first-year student, has achieved this rare feat in the S1 University Examinations. Somya’s dedication and consistent effort have resulted in a perfect score-something that sets her apart and inspires her peers and teachers alike.

University exams are not easy, and to ace them with a 10 SGPA is no small task. It requires not just academic excellence but also a calm, composed mindset. Somya has shown us what’s possible when talent meets discipline.

To all our students: keep dreaming big, stay curious, and never stop believing in yourselves. Somya's achievement reminds us that excellence is within reach when we give it our all.

Congratulations, Somya! The department is proud of you!

In loving memory of Abu Faiz

With profound sorrow, we mourn the untimely passing of Abu Faiz, a cherished member of our academic community. He was a student of 2020-24 B.Tech batch and is currently pursuing M.Tech in our campus. He left us too soon on 01 April 2025, leaving behind a void that words cannot fill.

Abu was a bright, compassionate, and hardworking individual, known for his kindness, dedication, and enthusiasm. He touched the lives of many classmates and faculty members with his warmth. Beyond academics, Abu's presence brought light and positivity to those around him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Abu’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. May he rest in eternal peace, and may we always carry forward the beautiful memories he left behind.

A condolence meeting will be held on 3rd April 2025 at Main Seminar Hall for those who wish to pay their respects.

Rest in peace, dear Abu. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
