National Road Safety week celebration

As part of the National Road Safety week celebration 2025, our campus organised a Road Safety Awareness Program and Workshop to educate students on traffic safety and accident prevention on 28 January 2025. The program was an initiative of the of Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Kerala. Led by the Industry Institute Interaction Cell (IIIC) and the newly formed Road Safety Cell, the initiative aimed to foster responsible commuting habits and enhance awareness of road safety measures.

The program featured a range of engaging competitions, including slogan writing, logo design, photography, quizzes, and emerging technology ideas, allowing students to creatively express their understanding of road safety. The event saw over 100 participants, with winners recognized through certificates and prizes for their contributions.

A key highlight was the Road Safety Awareness Workshop, held on January 28, 2025, in the Library Seminar Hall. The workshop was conducted by scientists from the National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (NATPAC), who shared expert insights on traffic regulations, accident prevention, and defensive driving techniques. Shri Anish Kini, Scientist at NATPAC, inaugurated the session and emphasized the importance of technological advancements in road safety.

Dr. Rameesha T.V., Scientist at NATPAC, led an engaging session on safe driving behaviors, pedestrian safety, and accident risk reduction. The workshop also featured an interactive quiz, testing students’ knowledge on key road safety concepts. The event successfully reinforced the importance of safe driving, pedestrian awareness, and adherence to traffic laws among the participants.

The Road Safety Cell at FISAT will continue promoting such initiatives, ensuring students integrate road safety best practices into their daily lives.
