Learning - on site and on route

Blending education with exploration, an enriching industrial visit was organised for the sixth semester Civil Engineering students from 17th to 22nd February 2025, covering a dynamic route through Udupi, Dandeli, Hampi, and Hyderabad. 

The 6-day journey included visiting Udupi, Dandeli, Hampi, and Hyderabad. The tour combined technical exposure with cultural exploration, offering students a well-rounded learning experience.At Uduppi, they got to visit the magnificent Uduppi temple and understand the architectural marvel. They also got the opportunity to enjoy the scenic beauty of malpe beach and St. Mary's Island.

Enroute to Dandeli, they got a first hand experience of a road construction work. At dandeli, apart from the adventure sports they also visited a resort construction project site. A camp fire was also arranged where students had an evening of fun, games, music and dance.

Then they moved to the historic city of Hampi. This gave students a unique look at ancient engineering marvels, including stone masonry and traditional drainage systems. A climb up the Matanga Hill gave them wonderful trekking experience and a beutiful view of the sunset.

The final destination, Hyderabad, showcased modern as well as urban infrastructure which gave them an insight into the evolution of the industry. They visited the ambedkar statue, Buddha statue, the secretariat building and the Birla Mandir. 



The Telangana Amaraveerula Stupam was a visual treat. On the last day, they visited the Golconda Fort, Charminar and Mecca Masjid which helped them understand various concepts of design and ancient architecture. 



This trip successfully bridged academic concepts with real-world applications, enhancing both the technical knowledge and teamwork spirit of the budding civil engineers.
