Colleges across the nation were coming back to life with all the academic buzz and celebrations being held in full throttle. Christmas was a lost feeling when covid came to action and it was after a long time that students felt the spirit of this year's ending celebration. The Department of Civil Engineering held the X'mas celebration on 23rd December 2021, with third years hosting it in the department seminar hall. The day saw outfits of red, white and combinations of both complementing the vibe. The hall was occupied by first, second and third years and I had the honour of hosting the event 😁. The event saw performances from students of all the years ranging from group dance to group song and to senior-junior interactions.
Christmas can never be imagined without a cake but the default one is usually ‘Plum’ for which there are very few takers. So the cake for the day was a big, delicious ‘Vancho cake’ which everyone pounced upon soon after it was officially cut. Santa and the Dept HOD Dr. Jiji Antony cut the cake and everyone took their share of the delicacy.
Teachers and students equally came forward and entertained the crowd, meanwhile students simply forgot all the inhibitions they had to simply dance and sing the day off. When most programs were getting over, the host sneaked out to get a change of outfit to take the role of ‘Santa’ and came back in to really bring back the Xmas frenzy. Students swarmed in to take pictures and dance along with the santa. The program came to an end when everyone came forward to sing and dance carol songs.
Merry Christmas Everyone!! 🎄🎅🌠
