Congratulations Aengel!

It always feels special when your student gets the opportunity to work on an industry-supported M.Tech research project. That is exactly what happened with my student, Aengel Maria Yeldho (S4 M.Tech). She had in fact took interest in CFD during her B.Tech final year

project.

What makes this even more exciting is that she was selected by RWDI, a globally recognized engineering consulting firm known for its expertise in wind engineering, climate engineering, and advanced wind tunnel testing. RWDI has contributed to several landmark projects around the world and operates one of Asia’s leading commercial wind tunnel testing facilities in Thiruvananthapuram.

As part of her internship and research work, Aengel developed a CFD model in OpenFOAM to benchmark different turbulence models and evaluate their accuracy as well as computational efficiency. Her work has been appreciated by the team, and based on her performance, she has now been offered an extension of her internship for another six months.

I also had the opportunity to visit her workplace and interact with the RWDI team, including Rahul, Director and the leadership at RWDI Thiruvananthapuram. It was great to see the kind of professional environment and technically challenging work she is exposed to.

Seeing students transition confidently from classrooms and research labs into high-quality industry environments is always deeply satisfying for a teacher.

All the very best, Aengel. Wishing you continued success in your research and professional journey.
