A team of three faculty members and six third year B.Tech students from our department visited Advenser Academy at Infopark, Kochi and Advenser Engineering Services Pvt. Ltd. at Cochin Export Processing Zone on 30th March 2026. The visit aimed to expose students and faculty members to real-world applications of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and industry practices.
As the team arrived, Harikrishnan K, Director, Advenser provided insights into the organisation’s vision, global presence, and its contributions to engineering design and BIM services. This was followed by a detailed session by Ashwin S. Nair, General Manager, who elaborated on the training programs offered by the academy, emphasizing the growing demand for skilled BIM professionals in the industry.

Further interactions were held with Leny Vijayan, Business Unit Manager (Architecture), and Manoj Mohan, Business Unit Manager (MEP), who explained the execution of real-time projects using advanced software tools such as Revit Architecture, MEP, Recap, and Tekla. The discussions highlighted how these tools are integrated into project workflows to enhance accuracy, collaboration, and efficiency. Santhosh Dominic, Assistant General Manager (HR & Operations), provided valuable information regarding internship opportunities, live project involvement, and pathways for students to be absorbed into ongoing projects. These insights were particularly beneficial for students aspiring to build careers in BIM and allied domains.
The visit also included interaction sessions with staff members at both locations, offering a closer look at the working environment. The organisation has around 350 employees, with more than 250 professionals actively engaged in projects at the CEZS office, showcasing the scale and capacity of operations.
The sessions gave the participants a deeper understanding of industry expectations and the importance of practical training. The emphasis on skill development and industry readiness reinforced the need for continuous learning beyond the classroom.
Overall, the visit was highly informative and inspiring, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and professional practice, and motivating students to pursue careers in the rapidly evolving field of BIM. The visit was attended by faculty members Dr. Kavitha P.E. (Professor & HOD), Dr. Asha Joseph (Professor), and Ms. Rinu J. Achison (Assistant Professor, Senior Grade).
