Dr. Asha Joseph, Professor from our department served as a panelist in Kaydenz 2026 – BIM and Engineering Summit, jointly organized by Kaydenz, Dubai and BIM International held at Lulu Marriott Hotel on 22 June 2026.
Kaydenz is a premier Autodesk Authorized Training Center and KHDA accredited academy located in Dubai. Kaydenz specializes in professional Building Information Modeling (BIM) education and career development. The event brought together final year and pre final year students of Civil Engineering and Architecture, academicians, and industry professionals to explore the expanding role of BIM in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
The summit featured three technical sessions and a panel discussion. The first technical session was handled by Mr. Midhun Das, Founder and BIM Consultant of BIM Channel, who discussed career opportunities in the BIM ecosystem and the skills required for BIM-enabled projects. Mr. Jayson Pasano, Head of BIM & Technical Operations at RMJM Dubai, led the second session on the “Pillars of BIM Success – People, Process, and Platform,” emphasizing the importance of collaboration and structured workflows alongside technology. The third session by Mr. Nigel Varghese, BIM Professional, UAE, focused on BIM applications in infrastructure projects and showcased real-world implementation examples.
The panel discussion, which included Dr. Asha Joseph, featured distinguished academicians and industry experts, including Dr. Syed Jalaudheen Shah, Professor and Head, Dept. of Civil Engg., MES College of Engineering, Kuttipuram; Prof. John Kuruvila, Professor, SCM School of Architecture; Prof. Shiraz C. M., Professor, School of Architecture, MES College of Engineering, Kuttipuram; Mr. Midhun Das, and Mr. Nigel Varghese. Together, they shared valuable insights on bridging the gap between academia and industry and preparing students for the evolving demands of the construction sector. Moderated by Ms. Sravana T. N., the discussion emphasized industry-academia collaboration, curriculum enhancement, practical skill development, and exposure to real-world BIM practices. The interactive session provided students with valuable insights into career readiness and emerging opportunities in the AEC sector.
The summit served as a platform for knowledge sharing, professional networking, and industry engagement. Approximately 150 Civil Engineering and Architecture students from over 20 institutions participated. Three B.Tech students, Murshid Ali P.K., Vivek Bennyson, Amina Farhath N.A. also attended the event.
