E-Football

We tried something a little different this time. An E-Football Tournament for our students! 🎮⚽ It was a refreshing detour from the usual academic routine, bringing in some friendly competition, plenty of excitement, and a whole lot of fun!

Our department association ACE hosted an E-Football tournament on 23 September 2026, bringing together thirty-two enthusiastic contenders for an action-packed gaming showcase. Played on Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) via console setups, the tournament followed a strict knockout format with eight-minute matches and immediate penalty shootouts in the event of a draw. 

The opening rounds delivered immediate excitement, featuring commanding wins from players like Vinayapriyan P A as well as tense penalty shootouts that tested the nerves of early frontrunners.

As the competition progressed through the quarter-finals and semi-finals, the technical mastery on the virtual pitch escalated. Andrews Shaju M S booked his place in the title match with a nerve-wracking shootout victory over Muhammed K C, while Joseph D Poonoly advanced after edging out Vinayapriyan P A in a high-octane 4–3 battle. 

The grand final lived up to the hype, treating a packed hall to a relentless, end-to-end clash that concluded at 3:45 PM with Joseph D Poonoly clinching the championship 4–3 over Andrews Shaju M S. Joseph took home the first prize of ₹750, while Andrews secured the runner-up prize of ₹500. 

Organized smoothly by student coordinator Yadhu MS and the department team, the event provided an engaging co-curricular outlet that highlighted the spirit of recreation and peer camaraderie across batches.

And judging by their focus, concentration, and attention, we may have finally discovered something that can compete with the classroom! 😄
