at ICRCE, Osaka, Japan!

I had the privilege of working on a Joint Research Program with Institute of Ocean Energy Systems (IOES), Saga, University, Japan. A part of the work conducted in this research was presented at the 2026 16th International Conference on Renewable and Clean Energy (ICRCE 2026) held at Osaka, Japan from 6-8 March 2026. The conference hosted researchers from all across the world, deliberating on the various technologies being developed in the domain of Renewable and Clean Energy. There were delegates from 42 countries and 139 papers were presented in the conference. The publications are expected in Scopus indexed conference proceedings of Springer. The Chair of the conference was Masafumi Yamaguchi, Toyota Technological Institute, Japan. He is the recipient of the Japanese government Purple Ribbon Medal in 2007 for his outstanding academic contributions and accomplishments in the field of photovoltaics.

The paper I presented at the conference was titled "Nonlinear Analysis of a 15 MW Monopile Supported Offshore Wind Turbine under Combined Wind and Seismic Loading" and is co authored by Sharath Srinivasamurthy (IOES, Japan), Neeraja Nair (FISAT) and Shigeo Yoshida, Research Institute for Applied Mechanics, Kyushu University, Japan.

Though this was my third visit to Japan, attending this conference was such a different experience, not just for the deep dive into the latest renewable energy tech, but for the chance to connect with brilliant minds from all over the globe. Beyond the sessions, Japan itself was a beautiful culture shock - everything from the incredible food and local habits to that legendary punctuality is so different from what we are used to. It’s been so rewarding to travel, meet new people, and truly see the world through a different lens.
